Painting by Hugh Rankin shows the oldest working post office in the world which is located in Sanquhar, Dumfriesshire, UK. It has been operating continuously since 1712. I don't know if this still happens but letters posted there would receive a special handstamp marking it as "The World's Oldest Post Office".
